Privacy Policy

Online Academic Help (“we”, “us”) provides one-to-one academic mentoring for doctoral students. This policy explains what personal information we collect through onlineacademic.help and our mentoring services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
1. Information we collect
When you request a consultation, the form collects:
- your name;
- your phone number and country code;
- your email address (optional);
- the research stage you select and how you prefer to be contacted;
- the page you submitted from and the date and time of submission.
When you work with us, we also receive what you choose to share: messages, drafts, data files, program requirements and feedback from your committee. We use these only to mentor you.
Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically records basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and time of visit) in server logs, used for security and reliability.
2. How we use it
- to reply to your enquiry by your preferred method (email, WhatsApp, phone or video call);
- to match you with a mentor, prepare a written scope and quote, and deliver the services you agree to;
- to keep records of our work together, invoices and payments;
- to keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use your drafts or data for any purpose other than mentoring you.
3. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy before doing so.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Google (Google Workspace / Google Sheets) — stores consultation requests;
- Vercel — hosts this website;
- Google Fonts and unpkg — deliver fonts and page code to your browser;
- WhatsApp (Meta) and our email provider — when you message or email us;
- the mentor assigned to you, who is bound by confidentiality.
We may also disclose information if required by law. Some providers process data outside your country; we rely on their standard contractual and security commitments.
5. Confidentiality
Your name, university and drafts are never shared with anyone outside the people working on your project. We are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
6. How long we keep it
- Consultation requests that do not become a project: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Project files and messages: for the length of the engagement plus 12 months, so we can answer follow-up questions — unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as tax law requires.
7. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under US state privacy laws or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent to being contacted. To make a request, email ksingh@onlineacademic.help. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Children
Our services are for adult graduate students. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
